People will often say things like: "don't get your hope(s) up." The idea behind this statement is to protect one from the disappointment of a hope not realized.
God's Word declares: " that the hope from God never disappoints." (see Romans 5:5 AMP) In a fallen world that often permeates with hopelessness, how is a believer to keep their hopes up? That is a good question.

First lets define God"s kind of hope. Biblical hope is a confident expectation of good. It is not merely wishful thinking as the world sees it. Romans 15:13 states: "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost."

Notice that it is the power of the Holy Spirit that enables one to abound (i.e. be overflowing and bubbling over) with hope. To often people will attempt to overcome hopelessness with mere mental energy. Our dependance must rest in the Holy Spirit's ability that is available to every Christian. Never forget that it is the power of the Holy Ghost that empowers us to bubble over with hope in a hopeless world. You are Blessed In His Name.
