This Week...
"In our previous devotional we looked at Ephesians 2:6. This verse explains a position that the believer has in Christ. That position is one of being raised up and sitting down with Christ in heavenly places. Understanding this is what enables one to manifest an effective Christian walk.
Ephesians 4:1 admonishes us to "...walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called." The Greek word for "worthy" is "axios" which is defined as: "worthily, suitably,or properly." The New Testament word for "vocation" is "klesis". The definition for this word is: "A call; invitation to a banquet. It is an invitation to the kingdom of God and it's privileges; i.e. the Divine call by which Christians are introduced into the priviledges of the Gospel. God's invitation to man is to accept the benefits of His salvation which is what this calling is all about."
Accepting the Father's invitation to feast at His table is directly related to accepting our raised up sitting position in the finished work of Christ. The result will be a proper walk that even the world will recognize as Christian. (see Acts 4:13)
