In this devotional we will begin a discussion that will continue for several weeks.
It involves a very necessary foundational teaching that many believers do not clearly understand.
A clear understanding of this subject is what helped launch this writer into New Testament clarity. The subject is:spirit,soul,and body. First and foremost one must understand that man is made up of three parts.(spirit, soul, and body)
1 Thessalonians 5:23 expresses God's desire through the apostle Paul when it states as follows: "And the very God of Peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Notice that the makeup of a person is three part.When this verse uses the termonology "preserved blameless" it is describing the desire that no part of the Christian personality should be lacking in consecration. For the purpose of this devotional let us establish the fact that man is a triune or three part being.
Next week we will begin to define the three parts that a person consists of.
I believe as these truths are established to a greater degree in your understanding, the blessings you have in Christ, will be realized in an every increasing measure. Praise Him.
