This Week...
In this devotional we are continuing to discuss the subject of spirit, soul, and body.
We have looked at the truth that it is the spirit of man that becomes new when a person acccepts Jesus and becomes born again. (see 2 Cor. 5:17; John 3:3)
This is what a Christian is to see as they look into the mirror of their new nature (i.e. spirit) This raises the question that asks: "What does that born again spirit look like?"
This may be a shock to some that the born again spirit of a person looks just like Jesus. The Bible states that as He is;so are we (Christians) in this world and that he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit. (see 1 John 4:17; 1 Cor 6:17;etc.)
This means that the more you see Jesus in the Scriptures the more that you see who you are in Him. Wow!
The more you see who you are in Him, the more of a changed life you will manifest.
The change from within occurs as you behold the change from within that occured. That involves seeing or beholding Him in the Word. To behold Jesus is more than a casual look but a ongoing, uninterrupted gaze. (see2 Cor.3:18 Greek construction) Our work is to behold His finished work (in our spirit) which changes the works in our walk of life You are greatly blessed.
