This Week...
It's important for a Christian to recognize that when they are born-again, it is the spirit part tht is changed. The body and soul are not changed. The body and soul may or may not experience the effects of the spirit's change. It is important, for the believer to begin consistently hearing about Jesus and His goodness and to recognize that this is who one has received upon conversion. (See Col. 1:27). I Cor. 6:17 states: "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit." "One" means a singular one to the exclusion of another. In your spirit, you are completely one with Him. Your spirit is just like Jesus. So when you see Jesus in His glory and goodness you see who you are in Him. For example: when you feel depression attack; ask yourself, does Jesus have depression? The answer is an obvious "No." Then neither do you in your spirit, because as He is, so are you in THIS world. (Emphasis added and see I John 4:17). The more one realizes the change that has taken place in sprirt the more that can manifest in the soul and body.
As you realize, and acknowledge these realities, the more you'll experience them in your daily walk. In other words, your soul will begin to assimilate or change to what your spirit has already become in Christ which will effect even your physical body. This process of growth occurs as you recognize and acknowledge (with your mouth) who you are in Him. WOW! Remember you are blessed!
