This Week...
We have been discussing the fact that humans beings are made up three parts; a spirit; soul; and a body. The part of us that receives the life of God when one is born again is the spirit.The believer is the literal temple of the Holy Spirit.(see 1Cor.3:16)
The Word of God declares that a Christian has the mind of Christ. (see1 Cor.2:16) This brings up the question : how does a believer activate the mind of Christ that they possess?
Studying and meditating the Scripture is very important to this process of putting on the mind of Christ. Another tool that our Lord has granted His church is the ability to pray in the Spirit or pray with other tongues. God has given His children the ability to pray in a language that releases revelation, His perfect will, etc. " For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful." (1 Cor.14:14)
Think about that. The only part of a believer that is completely changed is the spirit man. The Lord has enabled the Christian to pray from this place that is complete.Wow Our minds are slow, but our born again spirit is lightning fast.
