This Week...
In this week's devotional we will look at how believers will often attempt to do God's job. In John 14:27 Jesus stated : "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
First take note of the fact that Jesus has given the Christian His peace. This is a peace that passes human understanding. It is something the believer has within their born again spirit. (see Philippians 4:7)
According to John14:27 the job of the child of God is to "let not their heart be troubled or afraid. When you and I simply guard our hearts by declaring or acknowledging His peace within we are not allowing our hearts to be troubled. This frees our Father to guard and protect the people or things in our lives.
Simply put ; when a Christian guards their heart ; God Almighty guards the rest. An untroubled heart is the rest that allows Him to protect the rest.
