The Lord declares through the prophet Isaiah that..."His kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of His peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." ( see Isaiah 54:10)

The peace our Lord is refering to is a peace that the angels proclaimed at the announcement of the birth of Jesus.(see Luke 2:14) This is a peace between God and man that can now be enjoyed because the sin problem has been completely dealt with at the cross of Christ. Sin is no longer an issue between the Christian and God. Wow. What good news. This is the very reason that the believer now has peace with God. What is the peace of God made up of? The Hebrew word for "peace" is "shalom".This word is defined as follows:"completeness; soundness; welfare; peace. It is further defined as: "completeness (in number) safety; soundness (in body); health; prosperity; quiet tranquility; contentment. The word is used of friendship and peace in human relationships;but also with God especially in covenant relationship.Shalom carries the idea of peace from war. The peace that your Father has bestowed upon you because of the Cross of Christ is the blessing of the Lord that has no sorrow with it (see Proverbs 10:22) In fact the Hebrew word for "sorrow" in Proverbs 10:22 literally means "painful toil whether of body or mind". To realize what Jesus has gifted us with is the key to receiving this awesume peace of God You are so very blessed..
