he New Testament teaches that Jesus is the Believer's High Priest.(see Hebrews3:1) This means that Jesus represents the child of God before the Father.
Further defined : our High Priest Jesus means that we are judged before God just as Jesus would be judged. All of His perfection is laid to our account as Christians. At the cross Jesus took all of our sins and shortcomings and gave me all of His perfection. This is an awesume New Covenant truth.
Romans13:14 states that believers are to put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof."The Greek word for "provision" in this verse is defined as "forethought".
The Scriptures teach that believers are to arm themselves with the same mind; the mind of Christ.( see 1 Peter 4:1; 1 Corinthians 2:16) This is accomplished by receiving what Jesus has provided as the One sent to be your High Priest. Exodus 28:36-38 describes a plate of pure gold engraved with :"Holiness To The Lord."This plate is placed on a turban that was put upon the High Priest Aaron's forehead. Verse 38 declares that the purpose of this is that:quote: "it shall be always upon his forehead,that they (the people) may be accepted before the Lord." This is a picture to you and I in the New Covenant that says that when the Father looks at us He sees our thouhts as Jesus thoughts (ie Holiness To The Lord) This is the essence of putting on the Lord Jesus Christ. Wow In Christ; as His Thoughts are so are yours and Mine as His children. You are Blessed."
