Psalm 37:4 declares: "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."
What this verse is teaching is that God will put His desires into our hearts provided that we delight ourselves in Him. But what does it mean to "delight oneself in Him?"
The Hebrew word for "delight" contains the idea of being pliable. It is describing a person who is seeking to be usable. This attitude of pliability is what allows our Lord to literally put His desires into our hearts.
A possible paraphrase of Psalm 37:4 could read as follows:"Seek to be pliable in the Lord's hand, and He will literally put His desires into your heart."
You are Blessed in HIS Name.
