This Week...
Moses is Instructed by God in Exodus chapter 17 and verse 6 as follows: "... thou shalt smite the Rock, and there shall come Water out of it, that the people may drink. ..." The Rock speaks of Christ while the smitting of the Rock speaks of His crucifixion. The Water is a picture of the Holy Spirit.

With this in mind we look at verse 8 which states: "Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim." This takes place right after the event in verse 6.

"Rephidim" means "rest, or "refreshing places".

How does this apply to the believer today.

Right after one enters the rest in the revelation of the finished work of Christ it seems that Amalek will attack.

But who is "Amalek"? The numerical value of the Hebrew letters for "Amalek" is the same as the value for the word "doubt". I believe doubting the glorious truth that "It Is Finished" is where the adversary fights.

Continue to look to the Cross and Amalek will flee. You are in better shape than anyone has every told you.
