This Week...
"Peter saith unto Him (Jesus). Thou shalt never wash my feet. If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me." John 13:8
In this passage Jesus is attempting to serve Peter by washing his feet. Peter tells Jesus that He will never serve him.
Jesus reply is amazing. He tells Peter that if He doesn't serve Peter that Peter has no part in Him.
Here is the point. Outside of Jesus we have nothing to serve Him with. Our only virtue is in Him.
You see; under law, man serves God. Under the New Covenant of Grace, God serves man.Wow This is how we serve the Lord, out of receiving His ministry to us. This is serving in newness of spirit. (see Romans 7:6) The more a Christian understands the New Covenant the they receive the empowerment to walk in it.(see 2 Peter 1:2) You are so blessed.
