This Week...
Allow me to share a simple but very powerful truth with you in this devotional.
Romans 1:21 talks of people who knew God but refused to glorify Him as God and were not thankful.
The result was that they became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened.
Thanksgiving is based upon a realization that we have something. At the Cross Jesus gave us everything we would ever need or desire. To believe this is to birth thanksgiving living and praise.
To deny this truth is the unbelief that leads to murmuring, etc.
When a Christian has a heart condition of unthankfulness and praiselessness it will literally cause the Holy Spirit's activity to be quenched or stopped. (see 1 Thessalonians 5:18,19)
I encourage you to purpose praise in your life. When you do not feel like it. (Praise the Lord) When you feel like it. (Praise The Lord) . When things are going well (Praise the Lord) When things are not going so well. (Praise the Lord)
Remember Psalm 34:1: "I will bless the Lord at ALL times: His praise shall CONTINUALLY be in my mouth." (emphasis mine)
Choose blessing.
