Galatians 5:1 states: "STAND fast therefore in the liberty (freedom) wherewith Christ hath made free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

Just what is the yoke of bondage that the apostle Paul is refering to? Some may believe that it is sin.

The yoke of bondage in this verse is not "sin" but the "law". Law is approaching God based on one's own merit instead of the merits of Christ alone. Simply defined law is merited or earned favor; while Grace is unmerited or unearned favor.

You see satan desires you to believe that your sins and mistakes are bigger than His Grace. They are not. Wow. When one realizes that God's Grace or unearned favor is so much bigger than any sin it will cause that person to come boldly to His throne of Grace to obtain mercy and find the Grace to help in any time of need. (see Hebrews 4:16)

That is why it is so important to not allow anyone to put you under any mixture of law and Grace.

Remember: Jesus plus anything = nothing; whereas: Jesus plus nothing= everything. You are highly favored.
