So often worldliness is defined as the sins of the flesh or works of the flesh as recorded in Galatians chapter five and verses 19 thru 21.
These sins are a result of worldliness but not the actual root of it.
Worldliness is explained in Colossians chapter 2 and it involves trusting in the flesh and it's ability to produce.
For example this chapter describes the concept of rules for righteousness when it declares ..."touch not; taste not; and handle not. The context continues by stating that these things have no power against the indulgances of the flesh.(see verses 20-23 NASB)
If worldliness is dealt with at the root by the Grace of God the fruit of holiness will be the result. (see Romans 6:22)
